Attendees complete their online registration before arriving at the venue. Upon arrival, they receive a unique wristband that allows them to enter the event and make purchases throughout the festival grounds.
These wristbands can be used to buy food, drinks, merchandise, and other services simply by tapping them at vendor stations.
Advantages of Wearable Event Technology
Wearable event technology offers several important benefits.
First, it significantly speeds up entry procedures. Security staff can scan wristbands within seconds, reducing long queues at entrance gates.
Second, RFID wristbands reduce ticket fraud. Because each wristband is linked to a unique digital identity, it is much harder for counterfeit tickets to be used.
Third, wearable payment systems improve convenience for attendees. Guests do not need to carry wallets or phones while moving between stages or attractions.

Challenges and Limitations
Despite its advantages, RFID technology also presents some challenges.
Lost wristbands can create inconvenience for attendees because replacements are often difficult to issue. Additionally, large events require thousands of wristbands, scanners, and payment terminals, which increases operational costs.
Another concern is data privacy. Because RFID systems track movement and transactions within the event venue, organizers must clearly communicate how data is collected and protected.
Nevertheless, wearable technology is becoming increasingly popular at global festivals, and Dubai continues to adopt these innovations as part of its modern event infrastructure.
